Delay

In 1988 McKinsey & Co was hired by Allstate to help Allstate conserve cash and cut expenses. The first tactic McKinsey recommended was to delay the process of filing and paying claims

Deny

The second tactic recommended was to deny claims to EVERY extent possible. This reduces carrier expenses further, but sometimes illicits immoral behavior.

Defend

The third and finaly tactic was to, if nothing else wokred, defend all of the failed methods witha lengthy and intentionally expensive civil suit. This bullying further discourages the policy holder and sometimes even intimidates them.

Don’t Get Left Stranded

Waiting to file an insurance claim only hurts yourself and your your family. It is your duty as a policy holder to promptly inform your insurance carrier of ANY damages or suspected damages to your property. DO NOT WAIT! Most states have time limits that allow carriers to deny claims that are not filed within a specific amount of time

The final step in the process is the settlement. Understandbly, this is the step most folks want to get to as quickly as possible so that they can resume normal life. Unfortunately, carriers and their employees make it as difficult as possible to get an equitable settlement.
